Introduction – Boe brothers farewell
Norway has implemented a schedule change on the final day of the Biathon World Cup in Oslo-Holmenkollen on Saturday, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) announced on Tuesday. “This adjustment is done in agreement with the athletes’ committee to have a better focus on the event, and especially on the women’s mass start and the farewell to Norway’s biathlon legends Tarjei Boe and Johannes Thingnes Boe,” Topp said.
Reason for Schedule Change
Thursday afternoon, the IBU released a statement detailing the changes to the schedule on Sunday, March 23. The decision came in light of the fact that the women’s mass start event was going to be the highlight of the day and the Boe brothers deserved better than to line up against a bunch of national B-teams on the final tour of their storied careers.
New Sunday Schedule
The followings are the updated schedule for Sunday March 23:
1:15 p.m. — Women’s 12.5 km mass start
3:40 p.m. – Men’s 15 km mass start
This reform gives more visibility to the women’s event as well as to the closing races of the Boe brothers.

Impact on Athletes and Fans
This tweak means focus can fully be on the women’s mass start at the same time as fans and competitors can say goodbye to Tarjei and Johannes Thingnes Boe. The move is expected to boost both audience engagement and media coverage.
The Finals in Oslo-Holmenkollen
It’s the crowning event on one of the most coveted races on the biathlon calendar — the Oslo-Holmenkollen finals. As legendary athletes bid adieux, this edition is expected to be especially memorable to both participants and spectators.

Summary
The IBU has adjusted the schedule for the Biathlon World Cup finals in Oslo-Holmenkollen, moving the women’s mass start to an earlier time. The move is designed to better showcase the women’s event in its own right and provide a fitting send-off for Tarjei and Johannes Thingnes Boe. The new schedule will be an exciting weekend of biathlon competition and a thrilling conclusion to the season.
