It is one of the Biathlon with the most beloved traditions of the World Cup. The Silver Bib will now officially be an attribute of the upcoming Total Score season, signifying the overall best athlete aged 33+ in the Total Score.

An Ongoing Feature on Athletes Over 33
Silver Bib, Worn by the top athlete 33 years or older as determined by their total score, the Silver Bib will be a season-long display. This new classification will reward the accomplishments of both elite-level athletes and advanced Masters performances.
Silver Bib: Technical Committee Discusses
The Technical Committee Meeting in May will discuss the Over 33 category. The Silver Bib has been set but must be approved, which Daniel Böhm, IBU Sport and Event Director, is confident it will be — the Silver Bib will be just another bib to watch for in individual competitions next year.
An acknowledgement of Legendary Athletes
Previous Silver Bib winners include such individuals as Jakov Fak, Denise Herrmann-Wick, or Anais Bescond. The recent successes of Tarjei Boe and Dorothea Wierer only confirmed the promise of this category. Wierer, who will race in this season and likely fight tooth and nail to defend the Silver Bib.
A New Legend: Exciting the Silver Bib for 33+ Athletes
The Silver Bib was created as a recognition for athletes 33 and up, similar to the U25 (now the U23) award that gives recognition to younger competitors. Clare Egan and Susan Dunklee were instrumental in creating the bib, which Dunklee knitted during Christmas break.
